World War II Battlefront: The Atlantic Campaign: Mount Hot Rocks

Mount Hot Rocks (February 19, 1945) When American forces land on the Island of Iwo Jima, what starts as a plan to take the Island in a matter of days becomes a protracted battle with entrenched Japanese infantrymen. Braving their way through the deadly Japanese gnfire, U.S. Marines make their way to Mount Suribachi where they plant the Stars and Stripes. Then 60,000 Americans march through the Island pushing back the Japanese who are willing to fight to the death. For each square foot, Iwo Jima becomes the bloodiest battleground of World War II.
